Janel McNeal joins StevenDouglas with extensive accounting experience and over a decade in the Executive Search industry. She brings expertise in various industries, including real estate, technology, private equity, renewable energy, oil and gas, construction, and manufacturing. Janel has partnered with public and privately held companies, from small and mid-market businesses to large Fortune 500 companies across local, regional, and national markets. She specializes in placing Senior, Manager, Director, and C-suite executives in the accounting and finance sector.

Before joining StevenDouglas, Janel was the Co-Owner and Partner in a Texas-based boutique recruiting firm, McNeal & Payne Talent, for almost five years. She develops authentic relationships to provide the best service possible. She commits herself to understanding the needs of her clients and candidates and genuinely loves connecting people to new opportunities.

Janel began her career as an Auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers and later segued into the technology sector as a Senior Accountant. After seven years of working in the accounting field, she wanted to pursue a career that would allow her to make a significant impact within her accounting community. She transitioned into recruiting in 2013 for a well-known local firm where she was the top producer of her rookie class. Throughout her career, Janel has received multiple awards for recruiting and business development. Additionally, she has presented on training panels and mentored other junior recruiters entering the business.

Janel McNeal received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Canisius College in 2005 in Buffalo, New York. She obtained her MBA from Houston Baptist University in 2010 in Houston, Texas. She has been involved in NABA (National Association of Black Accountants) and continues to give back to her community in any way possible.
