The city’s job growth rate is strong with the main drivers being restaurants, construction, and fabricated metal manufacturing industries. Beginning in 2020, the Greater Houston area has experienced solid and steady growth of approximately 70k new residents (net) for 3 years in a row.  New construction awards in 2022 were up 25% vs 2021, and the retail economy, including restaurants and bars, continue to expand as the local Houston population grows and the job market remains strong.
