StevenDouglas Extends IT Division

November 20, 2018 – Executive search firm StevenDouglas has moved to consolidate its IT division in South Florida under one leadership structure to streamline resources in an effort to better support its clients.

Leading the effort internally is Jamie Javorsky, who has been appointed SVP of IT, overseeing the search, staffing and consulting practices.

StevenDouglas’ IT division now has expanded capabilities to service niche areas such as cybersecurity, cloud and data analytics.

“Making Jamie SVP is not just a vote of confidence for his work at StevenDouglas, but also a testament to the importance of the IT practice as we continue to scale the business,” said Matt Shore, president of the firm. “As we grow, it is critical to expand and enhance the leadership team, and we are lucky to have a talent like Jamie.”

The need to maximize the synergies of StevenDouglas’ entire IT practice is in direct response to demand, the firm said. IT jobs are among the fastest-growing for the next decade, according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics report. Skills in cybersecurity, cloud, data analytics, Internet of Things and converged infrastructure are among those most valued by IT hiring managers, according to a recent report by Cisco and market intelligence firm IDC.

“I am humbled and grateful for the opportunities StevenDouglas has given me in an area that I love,” said Mr. Javorsky. “Watching this firm grow from a boutique, regional firm to a nationally known leader in recruiting is an awesome thing to be part of. I’m excited to continue the world-class service we’re known for, while expanding our client base and relationships.

Growing Search Firm

Established in 1983, StevenDouglas is a boutique search and interim resources firm. Its client base is industry agnostic and ranges from start-ups and emerging middle-market companies to Fortune 500 companies and public- and private equity-owned firms.

StevenDouglas continues to be in growth mode, reporting a 200 percent increase in personnel in the last five years, and numerous new offices opening across the U.S. In October, it added a new office in Jacksonville, FL, marking the firm’s sixth office in the Sunshine State. “We are excited to open up an office in Jacksonville as we have been doing business in the market for over 20 years, but have not had a local presence,” said Mr. Shore. “This expansion is in direct response to continued requests from existing clients with a significant presence locally.”

Recently, the firm also opened a new office in Miami. “The Miami office will also be home to our rapidly expanding Latin America division,” said Mr. Shore. “It’s many of the relationships our CEO Steve Sadaka started building when he founded the firm in Miami almost 35 years ago that are still some of the top clients we work with today, placing talent all over the U.S., Canada and Latin America.”

This spring, StevenDouglas acquired Tallience, a full-service technology search, staffing and consulting firm located in Fort Lauderdale. As part of the acquisition, Tallience founding partner Tim Baron joined StevenDouglas as managing director of its Washington, D.C. metro office. Tallience was started in 2010 by Mr. Baron and his partners. The firm, which has a strong presence and client base in Florida and the Mid-Atlantic region, delivers technology talent across various industries in the commercial sector as well as cleared talent across the federal government.

Earlier this year, StevenDouglas expanded into Canada with the opening of a new office in Toronto. Navinder Binning, who joined the firm as vice president, is leading the executive search business in the Canadian region, said the firm. Her focus is on further developing the recruiters’ presence by delivering high-caliber talent for Canada’s leading industries including industrial and mining, energy, real estate and life sciences. Before joining StevenDouglas, Ms. Binning was a principal with the Bedford Consulting Group, where she helped place C-suite executives and operating managers into many of Canada’s emerging and established organizations within prominent, global industries.
