Matt Shore is Named New Chairman of the Board of Directors for United Way

United Way of Broward County is pleased to announce that it has named Matt Shore, President of StevenDouglas, as its new Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Shore previously served as the non-profit organization’s Vice Chair of the Board. In his new role, he will oversee all Board activities and agendas to ensure action items move according to plan.

“We are overjoyed to have Matt become our new Chairman of the Board of Directors, ” said Kathleen Cannon, President & CEO of United Way of Broward County. “Matt is a leader within the community and has been very active with our organization for many years. We look forward to having him lead United Way of Broward County’s Board.”

Shore is recognized as an industry leader and brings his extensive knowledge and experience in executive search to his clients. As President of StevenDouglas, he has driven change and growth across all aspects of the firm, including market expansion, business development, internal recruiting, public relations, and leadership of the executive search practice. He was a co-founder of the company’s highly successful Project Resources Division and played an integral role in its rebranding efforts and the introduction of new service offerings throughout the business community.

Prior to joining StevenDouglas, Shore spent 10 years in progressive leadership roles within a national recruiting firm – including as a Regional Managing Director-Florida for the company’s Professional Services division. Before he transitioned to the recruiting industry, Shore was with PriceWaterhouseCoopers where he worked in the Audit practice. He is a Florida CPA, and received both his Bachelors of Science and Masters in Accounting from the University of Florida.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Shore has been an active South Florida community member for many years. He has worked with the Jason Taylor Foundation as a key fundraiser and Committee member for the “Read to Succeed” program, to fund afterschool reading programs for underprivileged children. He has also been a fundraiser and an “Honorary Chef” at Andy’s Pasta Dinner to benefit LifeNet4Families, a cooperative feeding program. Additionally, Shore and his wife co-chaired the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Annual Gala and Fundraiser “Taste of South Florida” event for four years.
